Spring Tide

The Cold Frame Collective Presents:

SPRING TIDE - a new full-length devised play. This piece was devised in 6-weeks during the Spring of 2023. All members of the cast have contributed equally to devising this play, its story, and its characters.

Set in the mid-2000s, a group of late teens experience the growing pains of early adulthood. They are exposed to so many moments of the uncomfortable truths of growing up, the different types of love we experience in early life, and how nostalgia can be as cruel as it is kind.

A Spring Tide is a tide in which the difference between high and low tide is the greatest. For the characters in this play, it's the transition from high school to college and the ebbs and flows that come with those first few bites of adulthood. They, too, fear inevitable change and experience the waves and ripples of those life-altering moments where you have to take the present at face value, and the past no longer offers her comfort.

Spring Tide is one of those moments where perhaps we sat and thought about the past for a little too long. We let ourselves get a little too lost in all that comfort until life gave us no choice but to snap back to reality and experience the present.
