PROCessing & Handling

The Everyman Ensemble Presents:

Processing & Handling - is the first full-length devised piece by the Everyman Ensemble Theatre. This piece was devised in 12 weeks during the Spring of 2017. This play explores themes of morality and indulgence within millennial culture. All members of the cast have contributed equally to devising this play, its story, and its characters.

Set in a church basement, a bedroom, a park bench, and a cycling set of graffitied walls, this play centers around five twenty-something-year-olds who first meet together in a peer support group. Each character is fighting a deeper battle, either with drug addiction, sex addiction, anger management, or gender dysphoria. The play explores how each of these young people process and handle their situations at different levels of emotional and psychological maturity. A paranormal creature toys with the characters and reveals how they each interact with their temptation and vices.

The original production included original musical compositions by Joseph Seth Zamora.
